PWCS enters next phase of sponsorships and fund-raising
After being one of the first public school divisions in the nation to incorporate sponsorship opportunities for local businesses on school Web sites, Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) is once again taking the lead in expanding those opportunities to national corporations.
While the implementation of sponsorships on school Web sites beginning 2008 has been a great success, securing dollars from large national brands and chain stores has been out of reach. Instead, their marketing decisions are made at the corporate level.
PWCS and SPARK, the School Division’s Education Foundation, recently signed an agreement with Education Funding Partners (EFP) to garner the sponsorship dollars of such national companies. EFP has secured commitments with national brands and stores that are interested in partnering with schools for this purpose. This agreement was recently approved by the School Board and the SPARK Board of Directors. Read more.
