“Read to Achieve with KidBiz”

The Prince William County Public Schools Education Foundation continued its support and funding by offering the “KidBiz” program to approximately 5,000 third-grade students across the School Division.

“KidBiz” is a Web-based reading and writing program which provides a differential reading and writing instruction solution that reaches each student at his or her instructional level. “KidBiz” creates a unique profile for each student, based upon their age and current reading/writ-ing achievement lev-els. It then provides a variety of cross-cur-ricular informational texts, based on news-related, non-fiction stories. “KidBiz” then challenges students to answer questions, which are geared to the Virginia Standards of Learning. As each student’s reading level advances, the text and comprehension assignments adjust to the student’s improved level.
